BISWANATH: In yet another incident of robbery in Biswanath town, the miscreants broke in through the ceiling of a business house and sacked various valuable items from the same.

The gangs of robbers in Biswanath seem to have expanded their list of targets recently. Previously they used to stick to the residences of local people at a time when the people went for their daily chores, leaving the residence empty. But now they have started targeting the business houses as well.

The most recent target of these robbers was a hardware store. The name of the store is Mata Hardware and it is located on the Biswanath-Pabhoi road. During their operation, the robbers reportedly took two laptops, the two DVRs used for the close circuit cameras and a Jio Wi-Fi router. It can be noted that the shop had been robbed four times in the past.

Meanwhile, a team from the Biswanath Police visited the shop and took stock of the situation. They have started an investigation into the matter, and trying to get hold of all the miscreants involved.

A similar situation has arisen in the Lumding town of Assam. Thefts and robberies have become a daily occurrence as another incident of robbery took place in the Lumding town of Assam creating major risks for the people of the region. Apart from looting several business houses, the thieves also stole several two-wheelers when people were not around. It can be noted that over 6 two-wheelers have been stolen in the last month alone and several houses have been robbed of cash, valuables and other important items.

In a recent development, a robbery took place in the Jarangdisa locality of the town. The robbers entered the residence of one Partha Acharjee and cleaned up the residence of all valuables. The robbers reportedly entered the residence through the window and stole about Rs 50000 in cash, gold and other ornaments, brass and bell metal utensils and other important items.
